1.
(Friend:) I had a dream, my friend, that you died The waves in the sea had swallowed you alive They found your body washed up on the shore Your mother was there, but she didn't say a word The priest had said you fought a good fight Then we all walked into the loneliness of night A shadow that hid in the darkness said (Ghost:) "Don't ignore the little voice in your head The salt in my lungs won't bring you peace So won't you quit thinking of me?" (Friend:) I wish I could
2.
Through the keyhole I see you Masked beauty Painting pictures of well-oiled machines Through the keyhole Electric wires connecting our hearts Making us human again Lightning strikes, jolts us to life Alive but not breathing just yet Where are you going? Somewhere no one needs to know? Behind your teeth, do you hide from me your words? Where are you going? Would it kill you just to stay here with me? Is it love if love finds an end? Or are we just lying again? Bright shade of blue, underlying reds Your picture's as twisted as sin Justify what you thought was wrong Then hollow your heart out again Changes can make or break this When the sun's moving places, my shadow's so long I try to go on
3.
(Priest:) I heard a whisper come down the coast I felt your presence I felt your ghost It read like scripture It hurt like the truth Maybe it was you or nothing at all A yellow raincoat A man dead on his back A dripping wet note with memories still intact (Note:) "Separate the whispers from the faith that you lack Make a list of all you lost because you'll be getting back nothing at all"

Words 04:40
He holds the phone to his ear Little does he know what next he'll hear Just a few more words and his world comes crashing down On the other line comes that awful sound The doorbell rings but he can't move He just sits and stares at the wall across the room "Is this real life?" Is what is going through his mind "Can we just go back, just go back in time?" The church bells ring as the crowd walked out A plethora of black filled the mourning crowd "IGN 140" read the license plate Of the jet-black hearse his lover was in that day Say your words They do not mean a thing to me Cause I just want one thing Just want one thing For her to come back home Come back to me
5.
(Mother:) She still believes in the things she can't see She talks to God almost every day She wears that big cross around her neck And swears she hears you call from the waves We cross our fingers with bloody knuckles And bite our tongues when we try to speak The salt in your lungs won't bring us peace But closure might be just what we need Your brother's just fine He said his goodbyes And left town without taking anything He left me a letter it said "She'd be better, please just let her be." And I don't know why, but I can't let you die I can't get you out of my head The salt in your lungs won't bring me peace But I don't want peace I want you The waves crash around my head I still wake up screaming out your name When I see that raincoat that once held the Captain Choking on the salt that now runs through your veins
